I am an art director, artist, wine drinker and novice chocolate baker living in Houston with my magnificent knitter wife, our three dogs and part-time son (who will be moving out soon). We have three of them. Soon we’ll have none (living with us).
I live a quietly, extraordinary life, as most of us do. As I look around our modest home, I am thankful for the fact that homelessness has eluded me, I can function well enough to dress myself, the fridge has food and there is wine in case of an emergency – like the heat going out in the middle of winter. Of course, we live in Houston so the heat going out in the middle of winter is not a life or death situation, but it ain’t toasty either.
In the driveway sits two art cars, both in the constant state of ‘being done.’ The garage is a studio full of yarn and crafty things. I’ve designated our home a national art treasure as it is a huge sculpture eight years in the making – so far.
We love to get the hell out of the house. Travel is an essential part of our essence and the list of places we want to see grows exponentially every year. Although our travels have not led us to exceptionally exotic places, we have many wonderful memories and look forward to making more. We’re on the road as often as work and money will allow. We’ll visit if you let us.
